In this Episode of Love your Diagnosis, I talk with Ginny Dent Brandt about her journey with Stage IV Her2-positive and estrogen-positive breast cancer.
After five surgeries, six months of four chemotherapies, three years of chemo by mouth, and one year of immunotherapy infusions, she’s thriving.
Her diagnosis initially was stage IV Her2-positive and estrogen-positive breast cancer. She was then told, it’s aggressive, and then, It appears to have spread to your lymph system and other parts of your body.
The thing was, she felt great, It made no sense. Her doctor showed her the MRI, and it looked like a tornado had invaded her body. But this grim diagnosis motivated her to get a second opinion which turned out to be valuable. Ginny firmly believes, all patients should get a second opinion when they get a diagnosis like this. It turns out that the tornado appearing debri was inflammation from a biopsy that went bad.
Thankfully, she ended up not being stage IV, but all the same treatments had to be brought out to save her life–surgery, chemo, immunotherapy and radiation.
Ginny Brant’s cancer diagnosis sent her on a quest to discover what caused a health nut to contract a deadly and aggressive form of breast cancer. What she found may surprise and inspire you. Whether you’re determined to prevent this deadly disease, survive it, or prevent its recurrence, this book pulls back the curtain on cancer and answers the question “What can I do to help my doctor beat this disease?” She challenges you to change what your doctor has no control over–your lifestyle and health habits.

A little side note:
These shows are meant to create food for thought for people going through similar situations. Planting seeds of information about things that perhaps you never knew could and might assist in treating and managing the symptoms associated with your diagnosis.
Alternative treatments are out there to be used, alongside allopathic medicine, or instead of.
That part is completely up to you, but gaining knowledge is the first part in empowering yourself back to health.
